Just a random thought...

whitereflectionYou know, I think I'd really like it if I could find more CCS fanfiction that focused on *just* Touya and Yukito. But everything out there's always focusing on Yue, Yue, Yue, and the other two, especially Yukito, seem to fade into the background. I mean, yes I like Yue--he's verra verra pretty, and I go swoony over the hair and eyes and of course the wings. But...for some reason, I just want to see more about the other two, more interaction of the other two. Hell, I'd *love* it if I could find fics that actually focused more on *Touya*. I think he's a very interesting character, and there's so much in him to explore--and in most stories, he's so blasted flat and two dimensional. It's just...eh.
There are the occasional good things that appear on Clampesque, but lately I've been really underwhelmed by most of the postings. It's those few shining stories that keep me looking there, tho. But what's that one poster name...TamChronin? I *reeeeeally* don't like her or her compatriot's views on the CCS universe. Bleh desu. :p For some reason, I look at their fics, and see a potential Kouri/Karasu in the making. Bleh again.
*sighs* Actually, if I think about it, I get really down about fanfiction. There's so much suckage out there in the X/TB fandoms, in CCS, in Yami (oh *god* the suckage out there), in WK (again, dear gods, so much of the suck!), in Gravi, in...in...eh. I could go on and on and on. I just don't get why people who can't write in world of a fandom, or at least attempt to stay IC, don't just go write original works. Why bother with *fan*fic if you can't fit into the way it's already been set up? (And don't get me wrong, I love AUs--but then you *HAVE* to get the characters down, or what are you left with?) Eh, okay, so maybe I don't really get down about the suckage that's out there--after all, I find the good and like it, and space off the bad--but I do get down about how those authors that suck get worshipped for it, get groupies, and think they're hot shit. Eh.

Date: 2003-03-21 11:27 am (UTC)But yeah, it isn't really possible to not have Yue around--I guess I phrased that badly. I meant more that I wanted fics focusing on Touya and Yukito, without having Yue be central to the plot. He doesn't *have* to be the main focus of the story, but so often he is. It seems sometimes that so many of the fics are Touya/Yue instead of Touya/Yukito or even Touya/Yukito/Yue as they claim to be. And few really handle Touya's personality right, or go to any lengths to explore who he is--most authors don't seem to see the nuances of his character, and he comes across very bland (yeah, I'm biased as he's my favorite character ^^ --and yeah, there are a few who write him well, but it is a few).
Gah, I'm running on again. Give me sentences, and I give back paragraphs. *flails, smacks herself*
