Specifically, the post entitled "Attack, Destroy, Kill! Please!" In other (oft-repeated) words, get on with it already.

And might I say, this is what Bush & the Government (not a rock band) wanted all along--so why play the concessions game? Just fscking go over there, and get on with it, already. Do it, and move on. Because all the protesting and dissenting in the world will never and would never change their minds, unfortunately. So just quit pretending that Iraq has a chance of avoiding our attack, and just freaking get on with it.

And, just for the record, here's where I stand, based off something my friend Gina said. I'm pro-American; anti-war but more anti-Suddam; but I am *very* anti-Dubya. I did not like the elder bush, but I very, very much respected and trusted him--he was experienced, he was intelligent. His greatest mistake was not outsting Saddam back during the Gulf War. Dubya, though...I think the phrase 'wretched hive of scum and villainy' fits well for he and his administration. Corrupt, immature, irrational, unintelligent; gotta love that combination.

I just wish that if the attitude was "Fuck you, we're going to war because we *want* to, and you can't stop us", that they would have just done so, instead of tearing down decades of alliance building and diplomacy beforehand. And it would have been nice, if this was something we truly *had* to do, to persuade others to our cause, to build unity--instead of ensuring that in a global sense, that we are more alone than we ever have been. (Because 'loyalty' gained out of force, threats, intimidation, and bullying is no loyalty whatsoever.)

And you know, I don't like the Dixie Chicks...but for gods sake, they have a right to express an opinion, just like we all do. Celebrities, any of us, can say we like the government or don't like it, can say we support the war or we don't. It's part of that whole 'freedom' thing, ya know? It's so damned pathetic that not only are we letting our goverment restrict us, but now we're doing it to each other--censorship by peer is still censorship, folks. Sad that, say, 10 years ago, anything Big Brotherish would have had us all up in arms--but now Americans are embracing being treated and treating each other that way. Guess Orwell should have called it 2004 instead of 1984.

And now to work my way back to apathy. Or something.

Amen, indeed. BTW, your 'Christ on a fucking cracker' comment reminds me of my phrase "Jesus fucking Christ on a stick". ^^
