Duct tape makes the world go 'round...

I am in a very strange mood. Alert, alert...
Did just what I said I was going to Wednesday night. Felt a little more alive on Thursday, but I'm dragging again today. Meh. But I did hear there is a bit of a bug going around that seems to just leave people feeling kinda cruddy and very tired, rather than developing as a full cold--maybe I'm shaking off that. Or something.
Ate at Red Robin last night. This being the location where recently two of our city council members allegedly fondled/harassed a teenaged girl in the RR mascot costume. Oo The weirdness never ends. Ah well, the food is decent, tho.
There are reasons why I love Minekura Kazuya. And the fact that two of her manga--Just!! and Araiso Private High School--are unabashedly shounen ai is just one of those reasons. The fact that this sort of thing can be implied in most/all of her other series is another reason. Heh. Her art style, while extremely cool, doesn't change much from series to series, tho--many of her characters in the different series look extremely similar. And she likes to draw fights--mostly kicking, but punching too. Heh.
As far as other manga go, I am muchly glad to have finally gotten Gohou Drug 1 to go with my vol. 2--especially for that last page with the pic of the dark haired character in the shower (waist-ish up only, I'm afraid) showing some KICKASS tattooing on his back and upper arms. They seem to be plot relevant, but I'm only guessing as I haven't read translations yet. Damn me for not knowing Japanese yet.
In the Azumanga Daioh manga, Chiyo and Osaka work at a MacDonald's-like place during their summer breaks. >D Much weirdness. Especially since Chiyo can barely see over the counter. XD (She had to show her hs id to even get the job there, from what Anj translated/puzzled out from one strip.)
I sincerely would like to start paintballing cars that piss me off in traffic. Actually, I would love to start blowing tires out with a real gun, but I figured that wasn't politically correct to say. *shrugs* People are *really* pissing me off in traffic lately. Very much.
Speaking of guns, there seems to be a 50-caliber handgun out in permanent production now. Geegollygeewhizgeewhillikers. Just what we needed. Not that I wouldn't be interested in once firing one at a firing range, but to own something like that? Or knowing a neighbor might own it? Or my *brother* for gods sake? (Who has already expressed an interest in it, and used to own a 44magnum thing.) Allegedly one of their marketing schemes is that you can take down a charging bear with it (something a handgun can't usually boast, I guess). But how useful is this, really, even in wilderness areas? And when it comes to cities...I mean, gimme a break here. I truly doubt there will come a time when my last thought as I'm about to die from a charging bear attack, say, downtown is "Oh! If I only had a 50caliber handgun, I would be sav-ed!" Seriously, what are the chances this will become something to just more messily dispatch fellow humans, ne? For some reason, I can hear the Smith&Wesson company crowing now, "Our gun-penis is *huge*! Do you hear us? HUGE!!" Yeah. Anyway.
Maybe it's just the traffic-bitterness talking, but I can't help but feel people in general are too fricking stupid-moronic to be allowed guns. Or bow/arrows. Or axes. Or swords. Or blunt clubs. I think most people are too ass-stupid to be allowed Nerf, for gods sake.
Anj got the Azumanga Daioh OST vol.1, and now I have a copy. It is happiness.
I still think the webcomic MacHall is fscking awesome. The detail on the art, color, shading, etc. is just amazing--and the wit and humor in the writing most cool. It and Something Positive are becoming my ultimate favorites, I think, though I still have that long list I will read day in/day out. As always. I am a humor junkie. See my huge collection of syndicated comic strip book compilations? HUGE! ...um. Anyway.
Been wasting too much time talking to bots from work here. Tho it's better than dealing with most of my coworkers (not counting Anj, Kelly, or Lori, of course).
Least LJ is working today. Not getting in, even if only for about a day, was pissing me off. :p If it truly was DOS attacks, hackers can just bite me *hard*. And then I will blast them with my Huge50caliber paintball gun. HUGE.
I get no respect. Even the damn bots dis' me, or just ignore me. :p I so rule. :p
Just one short comment on the University budget, and the political ineptitude of our governor, state senators, and UN system administration: IT IS OF THE SUCK. *bows* Thankyou. At least our governor's and state senate's intelligence equals that of our presidental administration and congress, so we're all matchey. No matter the level of government, there are UberMorons! w00t!
Come on folks, do you truly think that duct tape and plastic is going to keep anything out? Do you really think that will hermetically seal your enviroment? Is this not just the new millenium's version of "Duck and cover!"? (ie. hiding under school desks would not have protected vs. a nuclear blast, duh.) It all boils down to: really, truly, nothing much will probably happen to us here--but if it does, ain't much anyone can do about it. Accept that. Ignore the 'terror alerts', quit with the gas masks and duct tape, and just live. Okay?
Random thought: Don't be a doormat. Don't let someone walk all over you, and appease them and accomodate them to your disadvantage. But don't be a damned bully, don't go picking fights, and don't make allegiances by saying "I'm gonna do whatever the hell I want, but you should give me your approval and help me, because otherwise you *suck*!" Shouldn't that be obvious? And don't get so focused on one object of vengeance that you ignore real, true problems that eat away at your very foundation--or that you ignore and appease real, valid, frightening threats (can someone start truly paying attention to North Korea, *please*?) And if I hear the phrase "If you're not with us, you're against us!" one more fricking time, I'm getting out the 50cal paintball gun, I *swear*. Shades of grey people! Shades of fscking grey! HUGE. Gah.
Looks like there's gonna be a bumpercrop of craters/potholes this year. The current construction projects never actually stopped, even when winter hit--so come warmer weather, no street in this city will be navigable. The construction contractors will have taken over utterly and completely, and will have us truly in their power to do their terrible bidding. Just you watch.
...anyway. Like I said, I'm in a strange mood. I warned ya. ...I wonder if I set up a fund, if I could get people to donate $$ so I could fly out to visit Nix? *ponders* *holds up a sign that reads "Will sell soul for plane tix to NM"*
