Good lord, I LOVE that song! God, the flashbacks just reading the first two lines brings... the memories of so many thoughts, feelings and events. Oh yeah, love this song...

I've gotta be honest with you, I hate that song. Not because its actually a bad song or anything (it's not; Poe's alright), but for a far dumber reason.

See, my real name is John, and for the past two years I've had to listen to the guys in the stock room at work blare it whenever I walk into the managers' office. It was cute the first 300 times, but now we're approaching blind-rage levels of annoyance. O_<;;;

Ooh, gomen. ^^; Truly I can understand, tho. It wasn't until the past few years that I permitted myself to be referred to as 'Di' since it was used as a way to mock me as a kid (didn't help my middle name is Victoria, so my Dad was always teasing me by calling me Queen Victoria, with the kids at school calling me Princess Di... Rrrrrrgh... >< )

Anything overdone is just grounds for going postal, I swear. I recommend whiffle bat therapy (or hell, go for aluminum bat therapy >D )

Ah, a sister-in-arms. =] For perspective, just be glad your name isn't synonomous for "toilet". That little fact spurred a couple altercations during grade school, some of which required the removal of my hands from a few peoples' necks by the resident authority figures. #^^#;;

Yeah, am glad for that. ^^ Though what *is* it with kids like that, anyway? It's like they took any name they could and mangled it just for the sake of being shits. And almost no one was safe from that. (Our last name was naturally 'adjusted' to "Asskisser", I seem to recall.)

I guess, what, kids are just naturally cruel and evil? (Probably.) Makes me regret I ever was one, and does help illustrate why I will forever remain childless.

Well, not all kids are horrible little peckers, just a very vocal minority. The rest are usually just trying to fit in with the crowd or else risk getting picked on themselves. It's Darwinism of the playground. =\
