Epic. Seriously. Was allowed to see bit by bit as this was written, and I have been itching with wanting to rec it the whole time. Love this so freaking *much*. A brilliant AU in which the world is the same, but all the people we know--Sam, Dean, their father and mother, Bobby, his wife, even Jess, have definitely ended up on roads less traveled. Still raised nomadic, in this the family business is being car thieves. I love the world in this, but even more, I freaking adore how she weaves together the histories and life stories for all involved, managing to be excellent AU versions of themselves, but at the same time very much mirroring canon. It's fascinating and so detailed, and I loved seeing each time something came up that connected to and echoed the show. The characters in this really shine, the dialog sharp and filled with excellent banter and snark, and Sam and Dean are freaking perfect. And it's freaking perfect in crafting their Epic Love Story.
It draws inspiration from Kerouac's On The Road, and I really love how I get the feel of that novel in this story. And it's like reading a movie, so cinematic at times, and man, I just love how it all made me feel to read, up to and including the ending. ♥
