ETA: Not SPN, but...snow? Snow?? Noooooooo. And it's accumulating, too. >_< Ffffffffff.

Well. Hm. o_O Okay. Guess I'm not hugely full of hypermanic squee, though it was interesting. Sort of made me uncomfortable at times, because of you know, being very Sam-supporting and Sam-defending. Because man, they really are making robo!Sam very much the sort that makes me wince at times. But there was progress, I think.

Anyway.
*I do like that they really emphasized that Crowley (hi, you magnificent bastard o/ ) truly, truly is a bastard and truly has Sam held hostage. No joking around about sending Sam back to hell if they don't do as he demands. Though Dean still kept grousing about it, even though, as was said, what else are they supposed to do? But I guess I can see that he's going to do it, but he's just going to detest it (and bitch about it) every step of the way.

*Btw, Crowley and the "Is that Bobby? Give him a kiss for me" line, lololol. A+, Crowley.

*Other lines that amused me--the dogs and cats living together one, especially since I *just* quoted that in my post earlier today. Ha. Also was amused at calling Sam Robocop. And for some reason Sam yelling after the SUV about "That's my dog!" Don't ask me why it amused me, just did.

*Creepy dog shifter is creepy. Or creeper.

*So the 'monsters creating armies' thing is going on with skinwalkers as well as vampires. Makes me sort of wonder if they're all coincidentally doing this, or if there's some sort of coordination amongst the different alphas?

*I am sort of oddly amused that their Plan B was just bust in and start shooting, well, Sam at least. Just because in my DnD games, we can spend hours, seriously hours formulating plans, and it almost always just ends up "Get 'em" in the end.

*The Impala must have infinite space in that trunk, to have space for that sort of weaponry. Also, Sam seemed sort of surprised that Dean had the sniper rifle (or was that my imagination). If so, how would that sort of thing remained hidden, or not been used before now? They've been together for years, even if it was something acquired while Sam was at Stanford or something. I can't see Dean having gotten in this past year, being out of hunting.

*So...Sam. Wow. They really, really had him playing up the jerk-bad cop-heartless cold killer sort this ep. I mean, just honest to god an asshole at times. However, I do ponder that he's been this uber hunter for a year, and though he's been living very much the ends justify the means, it didn't look like he'd been sloppy about it. This episode, he seemed sloppy, very much jumping to conclusions, grabbing at straws. I think this is both a sign of the childlike lack of judgement--see goal, go for it, don't think of the consequences, as well as the lack of caring without his soul. But also--I think it's a sign he's desperate. I know, just my opinion, but I think he has decided he wants and *needs* his soul back and he is desperate to do WHATEVER it takes to succeed at that, right away. Hence, grabbing at straws for alpha get the alpha use current target to lead them to an alpha, in such a sloppy fashion that he hasn't shown previously.

*And that end scene. Just...jinkies. I think we've finally seen Sam be completely, brutally honest. And ouch. I guess he has been pretending, a lot. And I guess that makes sense. He's got no soul, he can't feel, about *ANYTHING*. Not even about those he should care about most--Dean, and those important to Dean. I still feel like it's not *not* Sam, just because he's missing his soul. But it isn't truly Sam. And the fact that he doesn't care about Dean like this, that's the biggest sign.

But the biggest, biggest, most important thing, is that he, I think, really, truly *wants* his soul back, from his admission in that end scene. He admits he can be a better hunter, and he's not necessarily bad, just different. But...what he said about how he was the 'other' Sam for a long time, and though it was harder, the things he remembers about it (I am guessing being able to care for Dean, loving his brother, having that bond where he'd go to hell for Dean and Dean would go to hell for him--and being someone Dean cared about and loved in return, not someone Dean hated and didn't trust), the things he remembers about it makes him want to be that old Sam again. "I should go back to being him." There you go fandom. Don't say that you don't trust what Sam's saying or that you think he's lying. I think this is current!Sam being *completely* honest for once. And yes, he's being completely honest because he knows that Dean's had it, won't stick with Sam anymore, but still, it is honest.

*I'm also glad to see that Dean actually gave him his support now. Didn't get angry, didn't give him shit, didn't trash him for not being Sam anymore. It came off to me, at least, like acceptance, that they need to do what they gotta do, so Dean can get his brother back (to paraphrase Dean's line).

*So, tough episode to watch for a Sam fan, in some ways, definitely not a hug-it-out episode, but I really like the feeling that we're seeing true honesty from Sam about wanting his soul again, and that we're seeing the brothers united in their cause of fixing this. It's still a crap situation, but they're gonna do what they gotta do. It's a big step forward.

Though, I have to admit, I wonder what the emotional repercussions for Sam is going to be after, when he does get his soul back--not only has his soul been gone, in hell, for a year, but he's going to have all these memories of horrible things he's done (including "killing innocent people in the line of duty"), as well as memories of how much Dean hated him and the things he's done to Dean and allowed to happen to Dean. Sam...is going to have a megafuckton of guilt. I just wonder how they're going to play it, him getting slammed with all that, plus the suffering from hell, all at once. I really wonder what it'll be like. This will be very rough for him to recover from, I would think.

Anyway.
*Reaction to the preview: ahahahahahaha. Aaaahahahaha. And lolol. I dunno why it amused me so, but the end of the preview especially just cracked me up. Hoping that it'll be a fun ep, because man, we need it. Or at least I do. :p

Crowley really is a magnificent bastard, isn't he? But he just doesn't seem like the Big Bad to me - he doesn't strike me as a particularly fearsome King of Hell.

Sam's honesty at the end was the real shocker for me this ep. It was sorely needed (for Dean obviously but for the viewers, as well), but it was just... wow. Ouch. I was left wondering the same thing you did, about what happens when Sam does get his soul back. The angst would be off the charts!

Next week's ep has me so excited!!! I can't wait to see Show's take on faeries!

This boys are so fucked up. Truly fucked up and I don't really want to think about how Sam will be when he gets his soul back.

The end was really... wow.

Oh boys.

I appreciated the last scene. It makes sense. I don't get what people want from Sam.
they all are over him for saying that he doesn't care about Dean. It hurt yeah but if he doesn't care about anyone then he doesn't care about Dean either.
Rather, I tihnk it's even more meaningful that he wants his soul back without any rational reason for it.
And Dean wants his brother back!!! So, yeah, I'm kinda pleased. XD

Agreed on finally seeing some true honesty from Sam. I just really hope the writers don't make this 'searching for Sam's soul' go on all season. Or, have them get it back with only a couple episodes left, just in time to fight the big bad together. I would like to get some episodes that actually deal with Sam being back, his time in hell, what he went through and what he's going through now. And, I'd love to see Dean help him.

Eeeee, next week! Fight The Fairies. lololol
I can't wait :D

Hm, well I guess I'm just assuming he's the big bad, but show has surprised me on more than one occasion. It just really does feel like they're setting up the getting Sam's soul back as the big story-arc with Crowley as their big opponent. But augh, I don't know. XD I'm so impatient to see the rest, aaaa!

Next week's ep! \o/ That one last line from the preview *still* makes me laugh. I can't wait.

Exactly!! It's like, people get so wrapped up in the "zomg, no one should say/do anything bad to Dean!" that they aren't really *listening* to Sam. They're not trying to understand what he's saying. And what you say here is so important, that it's just sad that that part of fandom is missing the point.

But yes, Sam wants his soul back, even though he's a better hunter now, even though having a soul made life harder (even though even Dean didn't want to feel after *he* got back from hell), because he remembers what he used to be like. And that being able to care for/love his brother, and be someone Dean would care for/love in return is what he is *choosing*, despite all the reasons he could stay soulless. Okay, so he doesn't care about Dean right now--but he *wants* to be able to care about him again. So yeah, I agree with you, definitely pleased with that, and with Dean's response. ♥

Honestly, it really wouldn't surprise me if they did make it last all season. It would drive me insane, because I want it dealt with, I want the after-effects *so badly*. I want exactly what you describe. It just...didn't they agree to a seventh season? Or was that rumor? If they did, makes me feel like they would stretch this stuff out and not resolve it til the very end of s6.

Fight those fairies! FIGHT THE FAIRIES! XD XD XD So can't wait either!

Well, honestly I think there must be someone or something else behind Crowley (someone with its hand up his ass, so to speak :P). They (i think it was Jensen who mentioned it) pretty much told us about Crowley's new status during Comicon (while keeping the no soul thing under wraps), which makes me think there is more to the story. There has to be, right? I'm so torn between wanting to know everything now and not wanting the season to go by too quickly.

FIGHT THE FAIRIES! \o (someone needs to icon that)

Oh good golly, yes, it so needs to be iconned! I waaaant one! XD

Ooh, I hadn't known about that Comicon reveal. Hm, really sounds like you're right, then. o_O Because why would they reveal *the* big bad guy of the season so cavalierly. Dang, now I'm really freaking wondering what's up. *handflail* I have impatience issues already, now they're gonna be even worse. XD

Umm, if I remember right, I think both Jared and Jensen signed on for S7 (and maybe 8?) but the network hasn't actually picked it up for next season. I think networks make their decisions after Feb though so I hope the writers aren't relaying on there being a next season. Not that I wouldn't love a S7, I would! I would happily watch these boys forever :D

Haha, that's what I think every time he's in a scene &hearts

I wonder what the emotional repercussions for Sam is going to be after, when he does get his soul back
YES! I'm really, really curious about that, too. I really do hope they actually deal with that in depth, because it has so much potential!

Heheh, I think we'd be glad to give you our snow. :p Though it's all melty and slushy already. It wasn't much, probably will be gone soon. Though I do look forward to getting a nice, pretty blanket of powdery snow when it gets nearer December ♥ That sort of thing always makes it feel appropriately holidays-ish, heh.
