Hi, I freaking loved this episode A LOT. ♥ Just saying that up front. :F
*I love, *love* that they played Kenny Rogers' The Gambler. That's a song from my childhood, and it just makes me grin.
*BALLS! Oh, this made me giggle. I only didn't use my very appropriate icon because I didn't want someone to consider it spoilery somehow.
*Neighbor Marcy was utterly adorable. Is a bummer that Bobby killing the okami freaked her out--though okay, that was definitely an EW moment. Who knows, maybe she'll get over it once the shock wears off. After all, if she loves horror movies, well she sort of got to experience that sort of thing for real. :p
*Though tbh, I dunno, maybe someday the sheriff might be an option yeah? ;) She was cool.
*Btw, I am now SO a Rufus fan. He was cool before, but now the dude is SO totally awesome. The whole "not asking for your permission" and going to steal the ring for Bobby without him having to ask, dude. Just *cool*.
*DUDE, GAVIN MCCLOUD. All you youngsters, go Google it and learn about the 70s phenomenon that was the Love Boat, and the actor that played the captain of the ship. :3 I can barely remember watching that show when I was really young, but this reference still so amuses me.
*I love Bobby reading Dean and Sam the riot act. Because yeah, it was really true. However, I also love Sam's simple statement that all Bobby had to do was ask. It was obvious that asking for help, like from Rufus, was like pulling teeth to Bobby. Just as much as it's wrong for people to take someone for granted, it's not right to tear into people for never helping you in return when you don't ask. It's utterly awesome that Rufus offered--nay, pushed--help, but that's the exception, not the rule. I think it's sort of an illustration that Bobby's so used to being on his own, being the one people come to for help, that he's had to learn it's okay to ask. Especially when so many people do owe him, and owe him a *lot*. Ain't weak, ain't a bad thing to lean on others for a change.
*The Crowley and Bobby scenes were BRILLIANT. Crowley imitating Bobby cracked me the fuck up.
*LOVED that Bobby got his
*I loved that Dean and Sam went to Scotland ♥ I love that they went to such an extent, especially with Dean's fear of flying, because not only was it a 'they owed him' thing, but it really was the sort of thing family would do for each other.
*I'm digging on the Crowley king of hell thing, and that he's trying to change things, though obviously not in a making it a good place thing. But it's just interesting, makes me wonder what he is doing there.
It was just a very cool episode. I think our Mr. Ackles did a fantastic job directing, much applause to him. I loved the focus on Bobby, I loved that it tied up that plot bit, and I love that it was MotWish. I love also that it was SO much more the old tone of show, with serious mixed with a lot of humor. It was fun to watch in a way it kind of hasn't been at times, and I laughed a lot. Sort of a breath of fresh air. I'm hoping this is a sign that as they fix the Sam situation and the Sam'n'Dean situation (BECAUSE I HAVE FAITH THEY WILL HALLELUJAH CAN I GET AN AMEN Tryin' to be positive, what can I say, heh), that we can get show to the way we love it most, that exact serious/humorous/drama-yet-fun mix. This proves the writers still have what it takes, imo.
