whitereflection: (akuroku what it's come to)
[personal profile] whitereflection
In our department meeting: Yet again, the Library Dean makes an accusation (this time of a student worker) that is an OUTRIGHT LIE. Yet he levies it as if it is gospel truth, and we are expected to just sit there and take it, not defend ourselves or our students. Not say "You are labelling us as incompetents and as consciously slacking and YOU ARE WRONG", but just sit there and accept it as if agreeing that yes, it's true.

This is the third instance now. Of him insulting us, mocking us, making up things that are not true or that he somehow believes through some fucked up delusion to be real. And we can't defend ourselves, or say 'look, what you saw was this, not this stupid horrid thing you think was real' and have him actually act like we're not slacker idiots.

I hate this man. I *HATE* him.

I should be filled with glee, like I was last night, that the closed beta was announced for WoW: Burning Crusade, that I'm currently downloading the patch for the beta test realms and could conceivably be trying it out tonight or tomorrow. But that excitement's pretty much gone now, I'm so damned furious and disgusted.

So wish I could just leave and not come back. Like our building operations manager just did the other night (no lie).

[Hum, do I consider myself brave or something? Just had a 45min meeting with my dept. chair about this situation and related things. So maybe with her intervention said Dean can be made aware of how he is coming across. Whether he'd change or not, I'm not certain. But perhaps it will make him see how it feels for us? If that'd lead to it not happening again, that'd be swell. It was interesting at least, hearing her perceptions on the Dean, as well as discussing how he could be using alternate ways of expressing things he feels are wrong. Or something. Hard to put it into words. Feeling a bit weirded out for some reason >_>; ]
