Old Bloom County quotes, FTW. Especially good when caffeine/sugar/hormones/trip stress are combining to make me really incredibly edgy.
And good when the person I promoted to guild lead is needing to be whonked with a clue by four, because I *know* they're very loyal to this guild alliance and believe in it strongly--but how *many* times do I need to say I don't want to be on the council for it anymore? I've only said such over and over by freaking now, and he keeps bringing it up. NOES means NOES. Not as a guild lead, not in an officership, not as a guild rep, *nuthin'*. Rargh. I've only emphasized over and over how I really don't want anything to do with the UGA anymore anyway...why would I want to help lead it if I don't want to participate in it? >_< Maybe he doesn't get how close I am to quitting the guild just to get away from the guild alliance, and the people/ideas in it that I absolutely can't take anymore.

And. From what I understand, it is the *high* elves that are almost extinct. As quoted from a UGA forums discussion, which includes a quote from blue pulled off the main WoW boards:
Blizzard has clearly stated that there are not enough "High elves" to be a playable race, but that that blood elves are far more numerous.
As quoted earlier in this thread:

In short, High Elves are not playable because there are very few true "High Elves" left -- far less so than Gnomes. While there are Blood Elves in much larger supply, they are busy with other pursuits alongside Illidan. You'd certainly not see them fighting side by side with the Alliance anytime soon, not after such betrayal.
So get your extinctions right. >:p Bah, and naga just don't feel like something worth being playable--they feel like just a mindless monster--lore or otherwise.
One further point for Blood Elves being a new race--as many on multiple boards have commented, the playing populace are whining for Hot Babes to play horde side and frankly they have none. A few of the troll females are ok, and some tauren and undead female designs can be tolerable--but *none* are truly hot babes. Having Blood Elves would more than satisfy this demand. Because both genders of the character designs shown in that top link show much potential for hotness.
Farking farking fark.

Date: 2005-10-25 12:35 am (UTC)And, Ms. Mistress of Lore, the blood elves are what's left of the high elves, unless Blizzard lied to me at some point. ^^ I, for one, stopped trusting mods long ago.
Also, the naga aren't mindless beasts! That's like saying goblins are just mindless beasts. Naga are actually night elves that were forced to evolve into the naga.
If the new race truely is blood elves, then awesome.. but... that's sorta lazy on Blizzard's behalf. Take a night elf model and change a few things? Hard workers, they are. :P
But yeah, it'll most likely be blood elves. Disappointing for me, but a big fat "yay" for all those who complain that the horde aren't pretty. I can't wait for the Barrens chat to be flooded with eight variations of "Legolas."
