whitereflectionSo local news... Anj had a grandfather die, and took it rather rough. Work is at normal levels, but is full of academic/bureaucratic bullshit that boggles the mind. I am in a real mood funk (kind of a long lasting one, too). Been spending some time messing around on the UGA boards (on the guild board too, but it's really quiet). And I swear it's been months now of reacting to the allergy shots, them adjusting the doses down, and then me reacting again when the doses go up. I'm never fscking going to be able to finish these injections.
But work...suppose I don't need to do the 'I don't want to be here' but, as I'm sure that's already known. Just especially unmotivated and apathetic. Been going at it especially slackerish and half-assed for days now--the usual, mood goes down and slacking/slowing down/time wasting goes up. Even took a day sick Monday, though allergies were having me feeling poorly that day (though if I stayed home every day they have me feeling ill, I might not have come in at all this week. Am tempted as it is to go home today, as the injection reaction's really uncomfortable.) Anyway.
Con-ness...sounds like for Ota(con? kon?), hotel's already been taken care of, and I'd prereged previously. Now have airline tickets dealt with. Last item to set up will be SuperShuttle thing. One week until buying BlizzCon tickets (Aaron, you did want me to go ahead and buy yours like I offered, correct? Was assuming so, but don't want to double buy...). Set up hotel reservations yesterday. And yes, I look forward to taking a chance for a DisneyLand trip while there. It's how I work. Airline/shuttle stuff for that won't have to be arranged for a good couple months yet.
Am going to be buying a new computer, one way or another. Have a good chunk of money saved so far. Wanted to use that savings for other things, but the computer is more of a necessity. Either will be a used G5 of some sort...or James is starting to not like any of the online games he's playing. If he gives up EQ2, I'll buy the PC from him and use it for WoW-gaming, and the G4 for all my other computing needs (web, mail, videos, music, etc.) Because it would make more sense to just buy that machine from him than him selling it on Ebay or some such--especially since he put it together with a focus on being a game machine.
Other computer stuff...am pondering buying trackball mice for work and home. Regular ones always seem to end up working for crap, whether wheel-type or optical. WoW is the usual. No success on Ony last week, but progress. MC was a frustrating mess. More Ony this Friday evening, and this weekend will be our first attempt at the new Blackwing Lair (with...ugh, backup trip to MC if BWL is bugged, and rumors has it it is). Will rearrange the usual Saturday evening plans to lunch instead so I can go with the UGA on the BWL stuff.
Umm...not much else. Am really burned on reading fanfic. I'm just having trouble finding an anime/manga/live action I can stay interested in. And I'm so fed up with almost all the fandoms, and with almost all the crap that's out there. I think I'd still be up for reading if I could find something worthwhile. I'm so goddamned tired of the OOCbarf that makes up 98% of every fandom, and of the cliches and inept writing that makes up 99% of it. Sorting through trash to find the small flecks of gold is getting to be not worth it. And a lot of things about the Naruto fandom, fan attitudes, and certain plot and character points are starting to piss me off more than I can tolerate, and I think it's finally started to sour me on the whole thing.
I think that anymore, my 'personal space', both physically and mentally, is now taking up entire timezones. Loner or solitary is really not quite enough to describe it.

Mmm.. the funk will end.. eventually.. really, I think it just takes something to pull you out of it. Maybe you've just fallen into a rutt.. maybe you need something new to grab you attention and take you for a ride. ^_^
As for the fanfics.. well... :\ ... Unless you got a "STFU Rod of the Lich King", they're doomed to haunt you. Too bad there's not a site that is dedicated to doing nothing but finding good fics.
