Closeted

So what would they think of you if they knew about the time
you tried to strangle your brother
when you were 6
and he was 3
if they could have seen where you played in that walk-in closet
and something ignited
6 year old fury
was it an argument
did you want him to go away and leave you alone and he wouldn't
so obviously the answer was
to wrap your hands around his neck?
So what would they think of you if they knew that when
you tried to strangle your brother
you know you wrapped your hands around his neck
and shook
and he screamed
but you didn't squeeze
but it wasn't that you didn't squeeze
because you didn't want to hurt your brother
or that you didn't want to kill your brother
when you were 6
and he was 3
or that you didn't because you loved your brother
because you do now but you're not sure you did then
What would they think if you said no, i think i didn't
squeeze my hands tight
only because
i was afraid
of getting in trouble

So what should we think of you if we knew
that the real reason you're not a bully
you're not a killer
that you don't just break shit when you feel like it
isn't because you don't want to hurt or you don't want to destroy
isn't because you have good in your heart and do the right thing
It's because you don't want to get in trouble
a coward who doesn't want to be hit back
And does that mean if you knew you wouldn't get in trouble
if no one would do anything back to you in return
if you knew for sure you could get away with it
no consequences no regrets
Would you wrap your hands around your brother's neck
and instead of shaking
would you squeeze?
snap?
break?

And what should we think of you if we knew your answer to that?

Missy-cat aka cat 2/4 ended up back at the vet again, thanks to the first antibiotic for her uti not working. Least second antibiotic was just a single injection (plus an anti-inflammatory injection).

James had/has some sort of bug cold thing, and now I think I've gotten it. Feel like the crud. And his snoring is so godblasted awful, worse than usual--had trouble falling/staying asleep for a good forty-five mins after I finally went to bed because that ugly sound kept waking me up (always sounds like he's inhaling his soft palate up through his sinuses, gross).
