whitereflection: (vincent violence FFAC)
The story thus far:

--Still no restoration of items in WoW. Used grinding dailies and selling a few items the hacker didn't get to generate enough money to keep Ak in consumables and repair money. Between that and him still having his gear, at least I can raid. But really, I want my stuff back. I want my 20k g, my ore, gems, enchanting mats, etc etc. Even when I run into minor inconvenience because of things I'm missing, it makes me headwall all over again.

--Speaking of which, am going to keep up with the MacScan and Clamxav scans as I should have been all along, but doubt it was a keylogger. We're pretty sure they were breaking into my yahoo account itself and intercepting the change-password-here emails auto sent by Blizz when the password retrieval function is requested. Because the stupidity was my acct name and email name were the same (I need to change my mail with Blizzard to be my Cox account, so they're different)--and I'd not changed my yahoo acct password in a *decade*. It was a single word, no special capitalization/characters/numbers, and that related to the email account name. I about handed someone access to the account on a silver fucking platter. Anyway, in the meantime, that pw was changed with the rest (on James' computer just in case). As far as why there were no auto emails when they changed my game password, if they were in the account, they could have trashed the mails and deleted them, voila, no evidence. Can't say it was that way for sure, but it makes sense, esp with the fact that the spyware/virus scans turned up nothing.

--Started work last week, first the training class, then out on the phones end of last week. So far I seem good at it, oddly (we'll see when I get my real QAs though), but the calls are about what one would expect. It's pretty stressful, at least for me, and am crossing my fingers that I can keep going with it (at least until I'm allowed to app for internal job postings). But funny how many business owners treat calls to their businesses like they do their private residences. Hate to say it, but removing yourself from free listings and online listings (like say map sites and Yahoo yellow pages) ah you know, *hurts* a business? Like, businesses people can't find don't get patronized? It just seems sort of dumb, and in a way explains why many small businesses stumble and fail.

--Went to the zoo with Mom the week before work started. Was keen.

--Got a new matress and box springs, as the previous was a decade old. New, plus an anti allergy mattress casing, anti allergy matress pad, new pillows, new bedding. I think it is helping a great deal. Even Mom who could hear us both snore from her room down the hall says our sleep apnea is improved a lot. And one thing I will say about the new job--no dust or mold, no cleaning service using chokingly scented cleaning chemicals, no massively scented hand soap in the bathroom (last place bought cheapest, most stinking stuff out there), and I'm not sitting next to anyone drowning themselves in scented deoderant or lotion. Nice to not be sniffling/throat clearing/etc all the time. Though since spring is imminent, allergies will kick up--but shouldn't be near as bad as at the library or the data place.

--Who watches the...? I share many of the opinions of others on the movie. Really did like it, but it had its weaknesses. They used the music poorly (BAM! HI IT'S MUSIC! OK MUSIC DONE!, and so on). The sex scene was just...overdone, overlong and goofy. The violence was WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY over the top--yes, it's a *very* violent comic. But the innards quotient was way too "ooh it's for the gritty edgy new generation!'. However, the adaptation of the graphic novel was stellar. The acting was very, very well done (the actor for Rorschach was so spot on it makes me flail even now), and the effects were really well done. And the alteration of the ending actually feels more...fitting, and less comicbookey. Will finally reread the graphic novel, since I'd been holding off so I could enjoy the film and not nitpick while watching.

--And other stuffs. Aunt's health, friend's health. Stumble in getting a new computer that I'm not sure how to resolve yet, Anj with a new imac and Gina with a new used pc. And am jealous of Anj's PSP she got from another friend of ours. Reeeeeeeeeeeally want one now that I found out the Prinny game is only for that platform. :E

--http://store.eminenceonline.com/echoes-of-war-legendary-edition.html Want this. So. Much. May order at end of this week as a 'grats on teh j0b' to myself thing.

Anyway. Really been wanting more icons, but just not seeing much out of my usual favorite communities. Meh. And *hugs* to those of you that I've owed comments to ♥ Apologies for being a lump, as usual.
