Mar. 26th, 2008 08:15 amRemember the Sunwell, indeed. Thoughts on patch 2.4--it is surprisingly stable and not-buggy. Spawns for the new quests are understandably camped to hell and thus horrid laggy, but at least things work. Rep seems to come fast (friendly already), but a long way to go considering I need revered/exalted items. Those who just need honored like enchanters can suck it. The new 5man is pretty cool, though a bit fanatical about the need for cc. Blargh on that. Also blargh on having to 'open up' sections of the new content--even if that's also going quickly, probably half through phase 1 by this morning (3 or 4 phases total?).
Long time back I think I mentioned a coworker down in Circulation that'd been fighting cancer. Perhaps a month ago he had to stop working, and now word's going around that he died last night. He was just such a decent, nice, good natured guy. It hard to comprehend that he won't be coming back--seems like just one of his longer absences for chemotherapy, that one day I'll go down and he'll be there again. He's going to be missed around here. Though it is a bit unsettling that just two days ago they finally cleaned out/rearranged his old desk area. I guess they knew it was sure.
Down now, though. For all the stories of hope and remission, seems like everyone I hear about or know that has cancer these past few years has died or is dying. Even my aunt who once was in remission is a very slow, prolonged terminal.
