whitereflection: (cloud possessed FFAC)
Soo...an intriguing little meeting yesterday. Raised my concern with the 'reacts emotionally' thing, and almost immediately my ex-supervisor was acknowledging she had erred in not speaking of it previously (she's felt that way for a couple years now >_< ) and that she procrastinates mentioning things she considers problems until noting them on an evaluation. So. Discussed the whole situation, found out that she is uncomfortable with high amounts of emotion and clams up in the face of such (still think I haven't gotten *that* bad at work, and if she's like this how's she been a supervisor for so long...?)
But anyway. She's going to talk with our current dept. chair about removing that point from the written evaluation, and have it be left at verbal only. Would be fine with me, as that's how it should have been. There's a seminar they'd want me to go to, but I'm fine with that too. Looks like it would be useful, as it specifically mentions dealing with emotion in the face of difficult workplace changes. Anyway, again am more glad than ever to have a new supervisor. I've had ones I don't necessarily like or get along with, but I don't think I've had one so utterly bad at their job before. Best thing the reorg did was getting her out of supervising staff, imo.

Anyway. Enough of that for the time being. On to fanning stuff--nabbed a FFX guide, yee ♥ Must play that game this wkend. Fallen hard for Portishead, time to get some CDage so I don't just play the song Roads over and over and over (why did I not put it on my iPod yet WRYYYYY *flaily*) Also, faaaar more fond of My Chemical Romance's The Black Parade song than I should be, is a wonderful one to drive to in the morning. And finally admitting a major guilty pleasure song of mine: Tommy Lee's rendition of Fight For Your Right to Party from his reality show, played with the UNL marching band. A station in town plays it every Friday morning, and I absolutely *crank* it when they do. It's cheesy, they even change some lyrics ("Your mom threw away your best porno mag" to "I drive an Escort, my Dad drives a Jag")--but it's *fun*. And I can't imagine what a blast it was for UNL's band to be a part of it. The sort of thing that makes me wish I'd continued with band stuff.

Also fanning on Jackie's new Bleach fic, Roads (where I was clued in to Portishead stuff). Makes me wibblllllllllllllllle~♥ And makes me crave a road trip *like woah*. >| The presentation is different than the usual fic--photos provide illustration (and really compliment the tone of the story), and mp3s with designations of when they're to be played provide a soundtrack. It's just very neat and fun. And and...road trip ♥. I dig it so. Also, the characterizations and ways some get worked into the story are sparkly. Shiny Toy Guns is coming to town Oct 3 o_o Why isn't there anyone here to go with? DX

(Still dying to buy KH2 and Dirge of Cerebrus >_< So close to just giving in and doing so. Got the guide for DoC so I can loan it out to Gina--no way could she afford to get it. Would have bought the guide for KH2 already, but the one copy was in trashy shape...but zomg that guide is *massive* O_o Like twice as thick as most other guides.)

Pumpkin spice latte again this am. It shows. Also, that Starbucks gal greets me by name now. That's so awesome ♥
