Ok, I still want to kill the Jamster! critter, and whatever peep-esque freak thing they're using in the meantime. I hatehate those ads, and wish they'd take them off Yahoo! and such before I baseball bat my computer.
So with the fact that the tow company picked up the car late on Saturday, and neglected to get the key entirely (had to drop that off Sat. evening), the car won't even be looked at until today. Not sure how long until it's fixed. Though it's ok--the rental is really damned nice. A 2005 Dodge Stratus, dark silver grey (that 'gunmetal' color I like so much)--all sorts of electrical gadgets and whatzits. And! A CD player~ >o< You should have seen my happy face this morning on the drive in when I remembered it had that and that I had my WoW soundtrack with me. Ah, made me a happy camper.
And forgot the garage remote in the car, but the weather's good so we're just leaving the rental in the driveway. And forgot my UNO parking tags, so I had to wander over to campus security this am to pick up a temporary one--but that's ok, because it meant Anj and I could stop at the coffee stand in the student center and say hi to the coffee shop girl. And mmmm, a caramel frappucino-type thing with toasted marshmellow syrup...ohhh, love.
But I kinda wish I could keep the rental. It's hella-sweet. Handles so f-ing smooth, and brakes so sensitive you just have to breathe on 'em to stop, practically. Wonderous soundsystem, quiet engine, lovely roominess--only downside is it's an automatic, and I only will go for manual transmission anymore. Better control, no risk of horrible transmission problems (like the sort that plagued every automatic transmission car I ever touched). I'm so used to a manual, I had to absolutely concentrate on not trying to clutch, lest I slam on the aforementioned brakes. >_>;
Lunch for the folks here went well yesterday--made devilled eggs like I wanted <3, mulligatawny soup, chili, plus bought chala bread (omgwow) and paratha bread that Kelly helped heat up for me (the Indian store was out of naan, wah). And had a lemon cake and a chocolate raspberry cake that for being from the grocery store were surprisingly good (mmm, cake...). I showed 'em the two WoW videos I posted, and made 'em all copies of the soundtrack, and we watched Gina fuss with Sukoiden III, which has the most gorgeous animated opening cinematics of like all time. Anj showed us bits more of her GBA Shining Force game, which she's already finished and is replaying--looks like James is fond of it, maybe we'll also have to pick it up.
And WoW<3 Servers were decent this weekend, until flaking out last night (flaky like a biscuit, as I said to Aaron). Hit Maraudon with some others, but I need to go back. Long *long* instance...I hear to get to the 'princess' boss, it takes like four hours. But there's some fantastic money and equipment to be gotten--and trinkets! Trinkets that finally finish out all my equipment slots, I'm a real character at last~ T__T Though I had to trade a helm for my old headband and turn off the helm graphic, 'cause though its stats are awesome, the graphic is buttugly. Sad, I want some sort of headband again...I am hitai-ateless Sasuke once more. *sadpanda* But! Am lvl 49, and just 25% away from 50. I shall do a dance when I hit 50, because omg that's just cool.
...there is a chance..a strong chance, almost an inevitable one, that I'm going to end up guild patriarch. >.>;;; Whoa. I am...still boggling at the number of people that want this to happen. I still am not quite sure why, despite what's been said about personality, helping, sharing, being a leader type (ehwhat?), being present, etc. Weird. Though on a somewhat related note, I need to post recruitment messages to various forums, and have been talking to a former member about working together with he and members of his guild on instances and raids (his guild has like 9 60s and 15 50s, which would perhaps give our upper-level types people to work with without feeling they have to wander to another guild, like two 60s already did...). So, yeah, I told him he and I are sort of guild diplomats, heh.
Mmm, I should work. Metric ton of juv books to do, and I haven't touched a thing yet. So much babble in my head, tho. >_> Ohright, and visited Dad with James and Dave Saturday evening. Talked with he and my stepmother a bit--they had him on tons of antibiotics, some sort of uber pain meds (a sort that leaves you alert but high as a kite, and tended to result in just about no short term-memory ^^; ), and a liquid diet (at least he can deal with jello). I thought that they were deciding as of yesterday whether he needed to have surgery, but I haven't heard anything, so maybe that means the infection's clearing. I need to call and get an update. Hm, I need to call and get an extension on that rental, too. Will work get done today...? I'm starting to wonder.
(And I still hate 98% of the alleged-authors in the Naruto fandom. Suck doesn't even begin to scratch the surface...I think they're all 13 and maybe not even watching the same anime/reading the same manga. That, or I think they're using recycled crap plots from pseudo teen-soap operas and filling in blanks with character names. That 98% really need to be shot. Lots. /rant )
