Juvenile book worth checking out (literally): Science Verse by Jon Scieszka and Lane Smith. Parodies classic poetry with sciencey facts, and is just adorable. My favorite out of the bunch:

Gobblegooky

'Twas fructose, and the vitamins
Did zinc and dye (red #8).
All poly were the thiamins,
And the carbohydrate.

Beware the Gobblegook, my son!
The flavorings, the added C!
Beware the serving size, and shun
The dreaded BHT.

And as in folic thought I stood,
The Gobblegook, with eyes nitrate,
Came gluten through the dextrose wood,
Its extracts carbonate.

Oh, can you slay the Gobblegook,
Polyunsaturated boy?
3,000 calories! Don't look!
The sugars! Fats! Oh soy.

'Twas fructose, and the vitamins
Did zinc and dye (red #8).
All poly were the thiamins,
And the carbohydrate.

(And if you don't recognize that as parodying Lewis Carrol's Jabberwocky, I'm going to have to chew on you >.> )

The small child in me is horrified, *horrified* that I am so enjoying a breakfast of cinnamon pecan oatmeal and tea. No chocolate-frosted-sugar-bombs-with-marshmellows? No chocolate milk? For shame... (I would have bought a cookie, as they're huge and wonderful looking, but Marvel made raisin ones. D: Raisin!! D: D: )

More CD burning and Bittorrenting lately. I think I'm finally in decent shape to go buy a table and monitor, and finally start moving into the new computer. Also spent several hours last night (more time than I'd anticipated) finally getting some work done on my 'Primeval' art project--the one I've had the canvas/background prepped for for extremely many months. God do I love acrylic painting. Why I never kept working with it after high school, I don't know. I wish I would have done more than a smattering of art classes in jr. high and high school--and I wish I would have done *any* art classes in college. So anyway, it's all very rough so far, and there's a ton more to do with it, but it's *progress*. And I know exactly what all I want to do with it, finally.

Yesterday was a strange one for art project ideas...not only hit me all the details needed for that one painting project, I had had an idea for a series of seven others, three of which I can picture already (not to mention I realized how to finish one of the oil pastel pieces I've had sitting around awhile). Lord knows when I'll get to it all. But still...! Just the sheer number of ideas in one day. But of course this hits me *now*, when I was so close to deciding to try the National Novel Writing Month thing I've been hearing about online and from Gina here. I can't go for that if wanting to do oil pastel and acrylic work is chewing on me so hard--forcing myself to write when I wanna play in art stuffs would just be shooting myself in the foot on both fronts. ...the main problem of course, is making sure I don't slack off on the art stuff too, and end up doing nothing at all--which is so typical in my life. But at least I'm feeling the nudge to create somehow--even if it is some odd manic-grandiose burst of energy (though I'm hoping it is more than that...)
