Aug. 13th, 2004 08:29 amYep, Friday the 13th. Am not that superstitious--just a bit. But really, I can have bad luck or unluck any danged day, not like this'll be any different. >_>;
Gads, I really am being pessimistic of late, the quizzes are right. Why, I dunno--I used to be such a damned 'everything will be ok' Pollyanna type. Heck, even am nowadays when it comes to other people--very Sakura "Zettai daijoubu da yo". But me? That's a different story.
Need to blow my lunchbreak to call Dad (can't after work as I have to head over to Kel's for Saiyuki stuffs). Was talking to Ma last night and she said he's doing the Jewish mother-martyr thing of "Oh, Diane hasn't called me in so long wah". And you know, I haven't. Because every day this week I've either been exhausted-tired or busy on stuff, and so I have forgotten repeatedly. Even last night, I realized I needed to call him--after it was too late to do so. But can he *once* call me instead, help cover for the times I get spacey or caught up in stuff? Noooo...he always has to play this little game of 'Di must chase me'. Which pushes some buttons of mine that I've had issues on since childhood and which have already been sensitive for me lately... >< So yeah, he's being a git, and stuff.
But yeah, the sort of morning where I stare at the mirror and think, "wow, I'm a useless, helpless failure." I know, I know. It's just how I feel. Just what the voice inside says sometimes. If I could make things better, be able to do or say the right thing, maybe that voice wouldn't be so loud some days.
Finally started watching the Father Ted DVDs Kat lent me months ago. Damned lot of fun. *extremely amused* Because I am a leech, I maketh myself copies--and yeah, then I gotta copy my copies for Ma, because she'd *adore* this sort of thing. I mean, heck, just from my previous mentions of it, she's already been out on the web looking for info sites. <3 <-this is why I adore my mother <3
Speaking of Ma (again), seems my brother Dave has gotten her hooked on the comic/web animated thingy Lenore. Like extremely hooked-addicted, where she's had to go out to track down all the comics and find merchandise and she wants little figures and stuff. Mom is the greatest mom that ever geek-momed. *verra amused*
Heard that new Green Day song once, had to go out and find it immediately, yes. Darn them for making music that instantly turn into my anthems. Also am actually buying a couple CDs (shock)--Rock Against Bush volumes 1 and 2. Har. Har har har har har. Har.
