May. 19th, 2003 01:07 pmMuch going on lately--but I shouldn't take too long here as work is still busy. Anyway, not like it's all big stuff. Just minor weird things.
Bebop-cat, aka Idiot, somehow sprained his back leg on Friday. Got a 170$ vet bill determining it wasn't broken. He did get it taped up, and got some pain meds, and he goes in tonight to get it rechecked, and maybe to get the bandage off (Gads, another vet bill...least it'll be small). I've been calling him Tape Leg (can't help it, it's StrongBad's fault).
The problem washing machine is finally getting too bad to deal with. Now I have to baby it through both the fill and the fill-to-rinse cycle, and the wasting of water, detergent and my time makes me spit. The guy who I called to repair it is instead going to sell me a refurbished one for about the same cost, that is newer and he just swears by. So I guess that'll work.
Systems here at work had to do a complete network shutdown Friday afternoon, so Anj and I took a couple hours vac. time and did a zoo walk. Was very nice--cool and deserted. We did another zoo walk the next day with James, and it was much warmer, and scary crowded. Eh. But it's all cool, I guess--I'm actually getting some exercise this way.
Had to put up with hanging out with Katherine on Saturday, but it was for viewing the third Fruba DVD. So it was worth it. Though I am looking forward to getting fansubs from Nix, so I don't have to support Funimation in any way. But dear god, I *LOVE* Ayame. Those looks, with that marvellous deep voice--oh yeah. There are so many characters I like in that show, male and female. Just awesome. I need the opening theme as an mp3.
Getting the AC checked tomorrow afternoon, as I've kinda spaced having the AC/furnace looked over this past year. ^^; Bad me. But I'll have that, the guy coming over to bring me the new(er) washer and take my old, and oh yeah, Quest Telechoice is showing up tomorrow. Why? RRGH. Occasionally we have problems where our cable modem loses connection for some reason--usually we just have to reset it. Well, starting this morning, it refused to reset. No matter what I do, I can't get the cable modem to find its connection to Quest/Tconl's servers. Again, RRGH--no online access at home makes me *very* unhappy.
Yesterday should have been a lazy or getting things done day--ended up spending forever on a grocery trip, taking James to work and back, and doing dinner. But I did read Odd Todd's book (love his website), and got several years of the webcomic 'Goats' read. Why did I think I didn't like that comic? It fscking rocks! Eh, I musta been on crack when I first read it way back when.
Guess I'm going to be playing FF1 tonight. Or sleeping. Or being pissed at myself for having Akon but days away, but having nothing cool to bring for people--how many half-finished creative projects do I have going now, that I wanted to give to various someones? Criminy. And just in time, my complexion has gone supernova. Just f-ing great. And my 'comb and go' hair has turned into a 'comb and look like a dork' style. (Can't cut my bangs tho, as I need them long for hopefully being Sanji at AX). Just once, I'd like to look decent when I go off to see people or am somewhere where photos invariably get taken. Blargh. Don't think I'll have any new costumes this time around--guess I'll go with bringing a few of my old ones (Duo, K, something like that).
Anyway, shouldn't have gone on so long. And apologies to the several folks that have commented here, lately--I do mean to reply when I can find a chance.
Lots of rain--actually is a good thing. But the aroma of earthworms is kinda funky. >_o
