I had a weekend?
Dec. 3rd, 2002 01:12 pmOh yeah, guess I did. ^^;; Thanksgiving...was there. It was okay, I guess. I'm just reminded why I don't feel as close to Pat and Greg (but especially Pat) anymore, and why I really don't like hanging out at their house for long periods of time. There's stuff I could snark about, but it's not worth it, so I won't. But when we were driving back late that evening, I was hit with the strongest sense of where I *wasn't*, which kinda ate past my ability to be distracted and got me moody. Eh. ^^;;
Spent the rest of the weekend keeping frenetically busy, so I didn't have to think much. Did about 6 1/2 hours of housecleaning projects on Friday, did a ton of laundry, then spent the evening wrapping the Christmas presents I've managed to acquire until about 2am. Saturday was the usual bills (ouch), then suddenly got the urge to actually do Christmas cards, so I did a big chunk of those--just got a few family members and my closest friends to work on of those now. Watched the third Excel Saga DVD with Anj and Gina that evening, which was nifty. Sunday was Leslie's DnD game, which really dragged (didn't help that Blair, Leslie's husband, was snarky, and Pat was pissy :p Love being around people like that.)
Getting back to work Monday felt kinda odd. Had yet another follow-up dr's appointment as she keeps adjusting the allergy meds I'm on until things click right. Right now I'm up to one Allegra a day, one Allegra-D decongestant thing in the am, and now this corticosteroid nasal spray thing. Oh, and she wants me to do 'saline nasal irrigations' each day--translation: salt water up the nose. ...EW. I am *NOT* thrilled. Also am not thrilled by the realization that I hadn't spent almost anything towards my health ins deductible yet this year, so there's a few hundred dollars I get to shell out (plus 25% of anything over the deductible, plus all the prescriptions I've spent on already and the approx. a hundred a month in prescriptions I'm looking at in the future now...). >< ARGH.
Bleh. Went over to Anj's last night and made barbequed eel onigiri and watched some Azumanga Daioh to be sociable and shake off some of the ins.-related snarkiness I'd sunk into. Helped a bit. Today is quiet, but I'm already fighting the urge to go to bed when I get home. ^^;; Still kinda tired out, especially since being at Pat & Greg's place and cleaning over the weekend kicked my allergies into high-freaking gear and had me feeling majorly suckish again. Got stuff to work on tho, so I can't just crash. And I wanna talk to folks, so there's another reason I can't.
Man, don't wanna think about what bills are going to hit in January, as the dr's office sends me the total, as as our spending for Christmas shows up on the cc (even with cutting back this year a lot, still's gonna be fun to deal with). I should focus instead on flying out to Mom's the 21st. Seattle for nine days, that'll be so awesome... :D *does her zen mantra* Seattle...Seattle...Seattle...only 19 days away...
