Bit o' linkage
Oct. 24th, 2002 10:14 amBeen forgetting to share this--not *quite* as amusing as X Handpuppet Theater or the Toasty Frog Thumbnail Theaters, but still amusing and cute, is the Utena Thumbnail Theater. http://www.isako.org/thumb/ttindex.htm
Got our first snow of the year yesterday--our first real snow that is, since we did get some flurryage last week. It mostly accumulated on cars and grass, as the ground was still pretty warm, but by evening it was even sticking on pavement (the roads weren't too bad, though, this morning--only a little icy). We're lucky that the ground was warm, I have to admit--it snowed all day long, and into the night, so it could have piled up a lot worse than the few inches we ended up with. West of here, in central NE, there were some places that ended up with 6 inches. Yeek. It's a bit early for that, even here--especially since most of our trees haven't lost their leaves, and as we've found out in previous years, snow before leaf loss = major tree damage. It's all going to melt within a couple days, I hear, but I think this shows it's going to be a rather fun winter. >P

It occurred to me...
Oct. 24th, 2002 12:55 pm...for some unknown reason, that the snow over fall colors thing going on ouside greatly reminds me of a Frosted Shredded Wheat. Er, or something like that.
And I'm trying hard, so very hard, to keep calm and not start spitting about the Tsuzuki/Muraki ficcage that's appeared recently on Clampesque. I don't intend to read it, thankyouverymuch, but certainly not with the tone implied by the title. I'm sorry, the whole concept of the two together is just so damned wrong anyway, but to have Muraki as any sort of victim-uke just makes me wanna twitch. Sorry, but he's the bad guy, the villain, he hurts and rapes and kills people, I refuse to see him in any victim role, just because some git wants me to feel sorry for him in any way. And even if it's not as a victim thing, no way in hell would Tsuzuki make Muraki his uke, no way in hell (or choose to be uke to Muraki's seme)--not *even* going into how OOC that would be, lets at least assume that Tsuzuki has some taste and/or loyalty to/love for Hisoka.
It's bad enough that the YnM fandom is obsessed with Tatsumi/Tsuzuki, at least that's hinted at at times by the mangaka (though really, folks trying to keep it canon should remember that it's unrequited/unconsummated, and in the *past*). But the whole Mu/Tsu or Tsu/Mu thing is just *not* there, unless you count some sort of NCS situation. Because, again, Muraki's *not* a good person. He is evil. Evil evil evil, and he likes being that way. Not grey, not antihero, not noble-elegant-whatever, *evil*. Yes, I am a card-carrying, flag-waving, banner-unfurling, shout-it-across-the-mountaintops member of the "Murakis are Bad, M'kay?" Society, and I'm damned proud of it. (And no, I don't think that a bad childhood excuses any of it--Tsuzuki's and Hisoka's and a lot of other people's childhoods were bad, and *they* don't end up being evil, nor do they allow it to make them such.)
...er. I was *trying* to keep calm about it. Eh. Think the weird fic with *fluffy* bits pertaining to Mu/Tsu sent me over the edge. Sorry, there will be no fluff between those two. It's *not* in character, in timeline, in canon--but the most important thing is it's not *in-character* and if you're not in character, why the hell are you bothering with fanfic anyway?
...er. Let's try remaining calm again, shall we? Right. *sighs* Anyway.
