And welcome to tornado season, everyone
May. 5th, 2003 10:14 amHad Leslie's DnD game yesterday. Luckily we already play in their basement, as during the mid-afternoon we got smacked with a monster thunderstorm/tornado warning. ><;; Dear gods, I *HATE* that sort of thing. Makes me very, very, very edgy. Luckily there were no touchdowns anywhere, and it didn't last that long, so there's only very minor bits of damage around the area. Out near our house, there were only a few small branches down, and doesn't look to be any hail damage. Was trippy to look out Leslie's small basement windows and see things go just totally black, then weird greenish, with all the tree branches whipping around like mad, though.
Did movie things at our buddy Don's last night. One of the things he showed was Contract Killer, a Jet Li movie--not too bad, I must say. Odd use of random rap music for its soundtrack, tho. ^^; And Don's brother Tim showed us a video of NBC's coverage of the world championchips of curling, which Tim got to attend last month. He said he was the US Womens team's (somewhat)official groupie. Tim's part of a curling club here in town, and has mentioned an open house for the public sometime in June. I might go to that to check it out.
Not much else up. Just work today. Gonna take Anj to dinner somewhere on Wednesday to celebrate the end of her first year Japanese class and finishing her final for it. Maybe we'll do sushi or teppanyaki, whatever she's in the mood for. She starts second year and I start first year Aug. 25. I think Kelly's going to be retaking first year along with me.
New webcomic alerts: (And Andrew doth rocketh for telling me about them). At atomictoy.org, home of BLGT, is something called Stinkykick. It's the sort of humor in BLGT, but it mocks Hong Kong/kung fu style films. *Love* it. XD (Am especially glad for this one since BLGT will be ending at the end of the Snowflake arc. >< *flails* WAGE! Eh, actually, I understand why he wants to wrap it up, but still is a bummer). And also worth checking out is www.wigu.com . Dang, but that is one twisted family--like the Simpsons on crack and buff-inducing protein powder. XD Lovin' this comic muchly, too.
And the bestcoolest soundeffect *evah* is *FUCKBLAMMO* from the latest Stinkykick. XD That about says it all, I think.
