Or something. Was gonna do a 'week-at-a-glance' thing last week, and I just never got around to it. So here's...well, stuff lately.
Post-cold, I ended up in a rather ugly "I hate the world" funk. Dunno what exactly I was hating (certainly no one here), but it was 'the world' or something. But I did have a Japanese study night with Anj, and went out to a local Indian restaurant (good :) ). I also had a dr. appointment to refill my allergy meds, in which it was discovered my blood pressure has spiked up (from 120-125) to 146/94. (very bad >( ) Consequently I've been switched from Allegra decongestant to just regular Allegra, and I'm afraid they'll eventually take me off that. Gah. And now I'm having to check my bp twice a week until I go back to the dr Apr. 11. Joy. And she switched my nasal spray prescription--when I had *just* refilled the old, so now I've got a bottle of stuff I paid 40$ for, and haven't even opened. (Grr.)
Anyway, spent the rest of that weekend cramming chores into Friday night (including vaccuming, gah), so I could goof off the next day. But goofing off included going to Aki's, an Indian grocery, and a Mediterranean grocery with Anj and James, which was most cool--and that evening I successfully made a mulligatawny soup (vegetarian style with yellow lentils, pureed). Very cool.
Last week I was still really antisocial, to the point that I just couldn't make myself interact with anyone or anything. I wanted to be left alone all day at work (thanks to headphones and my cubicle), and to be left alone all night at home. I did go to stained glass class, but had a dropping incident outside afterwards--let's just say it was good my glass was cheap, and that I could still cut what I needed from the broken pieces. I am a fucking klutz. But I did have time this weekend to cut all my glass, so next class I can focus on grinding and starting to get it put together with the lead came. Am going to have to get my soldering iron, and maybe a grinder...all the money I'm spending, yikes. *sighs*
Anyway, this weekend was decent--productive, and I felt like I was pulling out of that 'antisocial/hate the world' rut. Helps that I've been trying to not focus on politics and current events quite so much (but not totally successfully, as evidenced by my last post. >_<; ). Took a half-day of vacation Friday and went to the zoo with Anj; was *damned* nice out, incredible fun, and we walked for over four hours. And had another decent (yet healthyish) dinner out Friday night--sad that I get a mood lift from a good restaurant, but that's how it is. *shrugs* Even went to bed early, which helped how I was feeling a ton.
Saturday was 'day of many errands', many of which unfortunately involved spending money, but it was all productive, necessary things--including a couple of baby gates, of all things. But now I can open the door to our 'arts/crafts' room, without the cats getting in (especially important now that I'm working with glass and lead in there). Had Anj and Gina over Sat. evening, and we watched the 4th Excel DVD and 'This is Otakudom'--hopefully we can watch the 5th DVD soon. Gotta love Excel. ^_^ Sunday was glass cutting day, as I mentioned, more around-the-house type stuff, our first grilling out of the year, and a 'rest/ice my knee' evening, as the extreme amount of walking the previous several days kicked my left knee's ass. ^^; Is feeling better today, tho.
So there ya go. Maybe if I feel I'm 'caught up', I won't put off lj-ing so much. Bad enough I've been so out-of-contact again, that I've gotta make it worse by going so silent. I will say that webcomics have been helping me keep somewhat-vaguely sane. My latest list:
Mac Hall
Something Positive
Lethal Doses
Player Vs. Player
Res Life
Applegeeks
MegaTokyo
Sinfest
Strange Candy
8 Bit Theater
Buttlord GT
Real Life
Amuse Me!
Little Gamers
Penny Arcade
Movie Comics
Hurricane Party
My Life In Blue
M.A.C. Studios
Bit Rate
...and a bunch others I haven't gotten caught up on yet. I miss the Jar, though. I miss the Jar a ton. Bastards, why can't they at least post their archive, or put out a print book or something? Bastards.
Right, now I shall shut up.
