bottle it and sell it
So last evening the husband, the mother, and I went to http://www.valaspumpkinpatch.com/ and it was ~awesome~. We got there kind of on the late side, so it got dark super-quick and was really cold, but we still had time to wander through several delightfully cheesy attractions/"haunted houses"/kitschy shops, feed bunnies (BUNNIES \o/), and watch the pig races (pig! races! \o/ okay, there were duck races, too, sort of :p ) And food omg food food--chili in a breadbowl, and it was free hotdog night, plus now they have their own brand of bottled, microbrewed rootbeer, then we split a turkey drumstick and a funnel cake with sugar and cinnamon and omfg food \o/ Bought stuff to bring home, too, because that's how it's done :p Two types of fudge (salted nut roll and chocolate pumpkin), chocolate pumpkin bread and muffins (spiced pumpkin and pumpkin seed).
It wasn't crowded at all, and even though there were bonfires going, there weren't nearly so many as other years, so the smoke wasn't so choking. Everything just smelled and felt so fall \o/ T'was awesome. Nice to have a night like that, especially since I hadn't gotten Mom there in years (last year it snowed so stupid-early in October, and the year before I was a horrid person who procrastinated).
PS. Actual joke from the pig race :D
What happened to Harry Potter when he hugged a pig?
He got hog warts.
\o/

The only pumpkin patches around here are run by churches and don't have groovy festivals attached to them. :(
