It's funny; those of us who are RL friends have a private chat channel set up, and I mentioned in a half-joking manner my desire to just do 10s with them a while back. I was like "lets transfer somewhere pugs actually happen (since some pugs on my realm even have issues getting LDW down - no joke) and just have our li'l group. And a couple of them thought I was dead serious and was like, "When do you wanna go?" "What toon should I bring?" XD

My boyfriend's pretty adament about staying though, and I don't want to pursue my own happiness ingame at the detriment of his. And I certainly don't want to sabotage his guild by "stealing" 4-6 of the only remaining, active members, lol. Right now I'm trying to find a compromise which works for both of us. Just... I get so sad I have the skill, the gear, the knowledge to get my drake, but not 9 other people who are able and/or willing to do the same. D:

At least I've found a surprising enjoyment in the game over grinding reputation and fishing. I think I mentioned I HATE fishing before. Apparently I don't, anymore. I'm like one or two achievements from Salty now, lol.

*hee* Man, I hate when LJ does that. Drives me nuuuts \o/ But I totally understand what you're saying about your bf. Even aside from the obvious not wanting to do that to someone you love, much less not wanting to make for bad vibes at home ^^ But definitely he'd be one of your good people, and you wouldn't want to not have him with. Maybe steal him, too, along with your best friends? XD; Or, man, house-cleaning a guild can be an ugly thing--but maybe your bf would consider the whole guild shifting from 25 to 10 as you move into Cata? Transitioning can suck, but it might be worth to start cutting people or making them backup if they can't perform or have reliable attendance, and making your 10 from your best? Not the most comfortable or fun way of doing things, but it's one option, perhaps.

And oh god, I know what you mean about PUGs--on more than one occasion, some of our folks doing 25 pugs have run into groups that have fallen apart before even getting *Marrowgar* down. I remember one guy boggling when the pug he was in fell apart and he'd not even gotten saved to a RaidID. For awhile PUGs seemed to at least get the first 6 bosses down, but now it's almost impossible to find a group that just gets four, even though things have gotten easier as the ICC buffed maxed out. It's why I am pretty adamant about not pugging. I like the people in my guild, but I hate pretty much everyone else on my server. ^^; Some of our folks actually find amusement in running with a bad pug just for entertainment purposes, but man, I can't find that sort of thing funny. I just end up wanting to hit things.
