BTW, LET ME INTRODUCE YOU TO MY HERO, BEN EDLUND. BEN, I LOVE YOU. I HAVE ADORED MR. EDLUND SINCE MY COLLEGE DAYS, WHEN I FELL FOR THE BLACK AND WHITE INDIE COMICS THE TICK AND PAUL THE SAMURAI, COURTESY OF MR. EDLUND, AND THEY WERE AND STILL ARE THE AWESOME SHIT. THIS MAN IS A GENIUS, AND PROVES SO HERE. GLEEEEEE.
*cough* So, yes. Anyway. >_> Suffice to say, I was enthralled, not even considering the end (the end of The End lulz I amuse me). The writing, the dialogue, sparkling. Cas' "The voice says I'm almost out of minutes" made even James who isn't really watching laugh. The set for 2014 was just gorgeous, perfect urban ruin.
AND MR. ACKLES, ILU2 ILU LIEK BURNING ♥ Gawd, so perfectly Dean. The Dean and Dean scenes were spectacular--to be able to illustrate the differences between 2009!Dean and 2014AngelPropaganda!Dean other than the minor minor physical stuff, so nicely done. Gaaaaaaaaah, I love how he played 2014AP!Dean. Oh, and the whole "We kind of liked it" line? HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE HEE HEE. (Edit: and yes, I see the ficcers are going *wild* about this XD XD XD FANDOM ILU). So brilliantly Dean, so wrong, so very meta. Yes, I *like* the meta. It brings me amusement. But also, oh man, the emotion he gives 2009!Dean (killed me during the fate of Sam reveal, ttly *flails*).
But omg, the Dean and Dean, hello, I can hear the fic being written already. The Chuck \o/!!!!!! Oh god, the tp line, slayed me because THIS WOULD SO BE TRUE DO NOT DOUBT IT. XD;;;; And Cas. Cas Cas Cas Cas Caaaaas Oh Misha you are the man, I want to ruffle your hair XD His wacked out cracked smiles just freaked me out and made me giggle.
But man, angels need to learn propaganda. Heavy-handed hamfisted much, Zachariasshole? And yes, I haaaaaaaates him, oh hates him I do. Even have written on my episode notes from the end of the future bit "FUCK YOU ZACHARIAH X( ". But yeah, all the 'say yes' 'say yes' was so just laid in with a baseball bat--save Sam! save Cas! (it makes me go hmmmm and ohoho and fufufufu ^.^ that both of them were used as the big 'say yes and fix this' things). I was so sure Dean was going to say Fuck That Shit, that angel propaganda wouldn't lead Dean to Michael, but back to *Dean* and Dean&Sam--but was still on the edge of the couch anyway. During the big final scene with Zachariasshole (oh I amuse me more)--and another kudos to Mr. Ackles for a very well played bit--I was mentally chanting "Say NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO", practically biting my nails. And you know what? "Nah" was the BEST most PERFECT Dean no ever :D :D :D :D HEEEEEEE.
And then Cas pulling his fat outta the fryer, yesssssss \o/ Castiel, ILU. AND THEN CALLING SAM EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE HI IT'S ALL CAPS AGAIN FOR I AM HAAAAAAAPPYYYYYYYYYY. As I wrote on my ep notes: "REUNION MOTHERFUCKERS!!" *rolls about in fangirl glee* REUNION SCENE WAS FULL OF FUCKING WIN. MY ADORATION, LET ME SHOW YOU IT:
"We keep each other human." "We make our own future." YESSSSSSSSSSS. THIS. THIS IS WHAT I WAS HOPING FOR. THIS IS WHAT HAS ME AFTER A DAY OF MOSTLY DOWN AND ANGRY AND WORRY FEELING LIKE YES, EVERYTHING WILL BE OKAY. YOU AND ME (AND CAS HELLO OT3 OH WAIT IMPALA OT4 MMHMHMHM ♥ ), TOGETHER WE'LL SAVE THE WORLD. And let me finish the squee by saying--Next episode? Looks like it is going to KICK fucking ass XD XD XD Ohman, I about wanted to die laughing just from the preview. I wanna laugh 'til tears XD XD I hope it's as hilariouswrong as it looks--and I am full of extra glee to see the return of fun MotW stuff. Would be a nice refresher after this past story arc, and after all the serious and FFFFFFFFFFapocolypse that's been building up so long. A nice breather :3 Before they stomp our hearts and kick us in the teeth again :p
Edity: Ohohoh, almost forgot. The Dean and Samifer scene, with the rose, to me gave the setting a garden feel, which then made me ponder garden of Eden and garden of Gethsemane. I'm sure there was no connection, but I did find it interesting to think about. And hm, regarding thinking, I'm intrigued on the why Lucifer fell story--is it to be taken as *truly* how it went, or considering this is AngelPropagandaLand, is it just the angels' opinion of why he was cast out--or is it their opinion of what Lucifer believes was the reason. Or just another part of the propaganda-crafting. Dunno, will have to mull it over more.
