/wave o_o I seem to have survived the trip over, and customs was fantastically easy (they had a *phone* if you had something to declare, and nothing at all if you didn't :p ) Just puttered around the first day--trip to the supermarket which was HUGE and full of awesome, and watched the best horror movie OF ALL TIME, Black Sheep. Yesterday was slack day, watched Kat play MGS1 and some of MGS2. I kind of wish I were good enough to play those games, especially 2 is shiny X3 Both are full of the gay <333
Going to actually play tourist today, I think Exeter is planned. Was going to go to Bath, but we kinda overslept (take that, talking til 3am the night before and 5am last night :p ), so it'll be Tuesday I think.
One odd thing: my brain literally broke that last day before the trip. All that listmaking, all that preparation, and you would not believe all the things I forgot. I've NEVER forgotten so much. I mean, pajama pants (yay being able to borrow), um certain underthings (yay for packing at least those 2 bras, least I can do laundry here :p I just forgot to look in certain dresser drawers WHAT THE HELL DX!!!! ), and best yet...my ATM card. WUT. I literally remember arranging my wallet and the passport wallet and leaving my ATM card behind because "oh I won't need that". Except that's how I was going to get money, 5 bucks for a foreign withdrawal but it would automatically be pounds and thus not need travellers checks or converting and GAH. STUPID STUPID STUPID TWIT. Had to Paypal funds to Kat so she can give me moneys, otherwise rely on my credit cards--least I have those (though of course I never set up pin numbers on them so I can't use them in ATMs :p Least I can charge with 'em).
Anyway. Wheeeeeeeeeeee. Otherwise, it's been really really keen so far, I <333333s my KatKat, and her housemates are a hoot :D And the area and weather are *so* Pacific Northwest esp. Seattle/Bellingham and I LOVE IT <33333
Also, international calling cards aren't that awful to use, but GAH they screwed up her access to US WoW servers, so I can't pop on to say hi to the guild folks :( Nor easily check back with James--am having to use Vent to get in contact with him, of all things :p Geekery, ho.
