Well I guess I can't be totally grumpy about this morning. >_> My dept chair still is on vacation (until tomorrow) and my supervisor starts her vacation today. And Anj made a strawberry rubarb pie that is really gd awesome--why she claims she can't cook, I don't know. She even did a lattice top that's like perfect, and the filling's set perfect, and yeah.
So the weekend. Sat. was Michael and Deb's wedding, and it was really nice. Unairconditioned church, but the building was neat, and the ceremony really meaningful. It had a Renaissance theme, and one of the members of the wedding party does theater costuming and put together some very gorgeous garb for the groom, bridesmaids and groomsmen. Those with swords (medieval, military, what-have-you) did an arch as the two exited the church. Also was nice that I got to see some friends from back in college who now live on the other side of Iowa. Was really surprised and happy to see them. Need to try to email 'em.
Sunday went to Don's, which was also unairconditioned. Watched Rock and Rule, and the Daft Punk video Interstella 5555, which was actually pretty awesome (Arty'd shown me a clip from it awhile back). Don also showed some sort of Ultraman episode, but it was excruciatingly bad and boring. Other than that, game stuff was productive--got two levels with Nin-mage, so she's at 55. Most happy. Not looking forward to working on C'thun tonight though. Really dreading that actually.
Add a new fandom to my list. -__- Way back when, I'd read a couple of volumes Anj had of XXXholic and liked it ok, but wasn't avidly following it. Then I got curious about Doumeki/Watanuki (thx to people like Jackie and others) and end of last week went through a LJ community's links for fics...and kind of got hooked. >_> Read the volumes Anj has now to catch up--3-7 and ZOMG. HELLO. No one told me the slash in it was so not-subtle. I mean, I know it's CLAMP, but I still hadn't realized XXXholic was gonna be like that. So now...I'm really hooked. Really really. D: Spent some time this weekend scouring up what remaining fic I could find, tho I think I've read it all now. I'm leery of trusting CLAMP--I don't want to get X'd or Tokyo Babylon'd, but I know they do stuff that's not just character-breaking-angst, I mean look at Sakura. So, yeah. Hooked. Also really amused at how not terribly bishounen the two are...they're kinda goofy and gangly- looking--yet still it's charming and fascinating and Gah must buy manga. /d00m
I wonder how little work I can get away with doing (not doing?) today. Also, didn't permit myself coffee. Definitely suffering as a result.

THEY ARE SO CANON OMG. Yuuko makes them canon. XDDDD I'm waiting for her to lock them in a closet or something. Naked. She would do it, too.
You should check out the anime! It's gooooooood. Fukuyama Jun as Watanuki has to be one of the greatest castings in the history of seiyuudom. XDD

I'm surprised no one has written this yet. Especially since there's been fics of that sort of concept in other fandoms--yet without such a perfect character to instigate such. :| I need to beat people with sticks until someone produces one. And they need a blanket fic, also. Not that I'd write it, because I can't seem to get to the one I signed up for *Edvard Munch scream*
Anime!! Yeah, we're trying to get ahold of it somehow--but the bunch of us here prefer to watch DVDs as opposed to on computer, so so far we're stuck with trying to find HK subs D: Buddy of mine does have the movie--I might see if she'll bring it with when we hang out Saturday.
And now I'm having spazzings to realize that Sakaki in WHR, Nagi, and Yumichika all share the same seiyuu (went and looked it up on wikipedia since I'm clueless about what voice actor does what ^^; ). Breaks my brain a little, and I'll be extra amused to hear Watanuki then ♥

Though I don't know when that will be--I can relate to something you mentioned to someone else, about a fic coming a sentence at a time. >_< Am always like that, and then what I do have written down I keep reworking. So progress is slow at best. :x Would you believe a paragraph or so a week, split between two fics? D: D: (Pacing started out better at first, think I had a bit of manic energy at the time :x )
The blanket one is still mostly in my head, which is a dangerous thing since I know bits have slipped away from my original inspired moments. Must lern2takenotes. :/ Also, still really unfamiliar with vocabulary and technical details, so have to keep looking stuff up. Gah.
What's sad is that it feels like I'm putting a lot of thought and effort into it, but it's still going to be short. :| Lolz.
