if that's moving up...
Eventually every MMORPG player gets to be part of The Catastrophic Raid. The sort where Murphy's Law somehow combines with monkeys flinging poo at you all. The evening started out well enough--had like the lightest traffic ever coming home. Got online, got my spot, stuff started a bit slow but not bad. And the group wasn't quite the precision team as Sunday, with fewer healing types than we really would've wished for, but what the hey. All went fairly smoothly until we hit that boss we'd had trouble with the other day (Gehennas).
So full wipe once, but it was a really good effort. Then...not just once, but *twice*, Gehennas and his two allies were accidentaly aggro'ed as we were resetting up and organizing--causing not full wipes but much death. Started losing people due to time, but were able to cobble together more members. And icing on the cake, was one member jacking around too much and making noise in the raid channel after the raid leader had asked for quiet, so said member was booted (didn't help he had a bad history on previous runs with our guild alliance). So, being the sort of person that player was--he aggro'ed Gehennas and allies *again* and purposefully trained him onto our group.
Asshat was banned from any runs with us and from our forums and chat channels, but still. That all but wiped everyone again, and fried people to the point that the raid was called, to be reattempted tonight. Fun. Yeah. I'd already planned on going anyway, but with the hope that we'd have made some progress, not having wasted *hours* on a worthless run the night before. Even if we'd not been successful, it would've felt better if we'd at least had multiple attempts go off leading to dying, not stupid accidents and a jackass.
So yeah, whatever, I'm sure. Just was 'an experience', is all. I imagine I'll still get a spot despite having to get home later, but on the offchance that I don't, I should hit bed really early. Am not catching up on sleep, just barely treading water so to speak. Am really tempted to take a night off of computer stuff entirely tomorrow. Not sure, will have to consider that.
Kept craving a DQ Blizzard badly last night, as stuff was all going down. Really, really craving. T__T Naturally James was out of the house with the car, and even though close (only a few blocks away), the DQ would've taken too long to walk to.
