I really believe Sam's on emotional lockdown here. And I might be the only person in the world who was relieved when he paid the chick. Because a hooker has a solid expectation of being treated like that as she leaves, even if it's not pleasant. A one-night stand would probably be truly hurt by it. And I hate to think of Sam being in a place where he'd inflict that kind of harm on someone for no reason.
