Idk if it's worth a damn, and I think you're on 25, right? But some of this is actually still applicable cross-raid difficulty, and this is what we did for 10s:

Setup was,
tanks: Bear tank druid, blood tank death knight
Heals: Restoration shaman, holy paladin, discipline priest
DPS: Elemental shaman, fire mage, destruction warlock, marksmanship hunter, retribution paladin.

Phase 1: Bear tank took LK, blood DK took the adds a little ways off to the side. Anyone with plague runs to the adds cluster and gets cleansed before the first tick, plague jumps on adds, and kills the shambling horrors. Hunter keeps an eye on shamblers, and tranq shots them if they enrage. We usually had two shamblers up at once, never more. The rest of us go pew pew on LK.

Transition phase 1: Everyone runs to edge, blood tank took the still living adds off to the side to let the plague finish them off. Bear tank reaction time was key to our survival here; Bear tank got on Spirits as SOON as they popped, and faced them in towards the LK. He was superfast about grabbing them and positioning them. By the time transition phase ends, we usually had one spirit left alive, at various points of health, but no more shamblers. All our attempts where shamblers were alive due to plague disappearing ended in a wipe.

Phase 2: Valkyrs were dealt with swiftly; pre-Wrynn buff we had some DPS issues if a DPS was grabbed, but when we beat him we had the 5% buff and it made a noticeable difference. As for the Defiles, we found that while everyone had DBM, the small ticking countdown bars had become an afterthought to a lot of people, so I was actually calling EVERY single Defile out in Ventrilo a few seconds before it was due to hit. Then people spread out/ran towards the edge/throne to place the defile as conveniently as possible. I'd also call out Valkyrs on ventrilo so people were away from the edges, which led to a lot of calls along the lines of "Valkyr in 5 seconds, but Defile first so place it fast then get the fuck in the middle!"

Transition phase 2: Second verse, same as first, except we popped heroism.

Phase 3: I continued calling cooldowns on Vent. We tried killing the spirits floating above when he summoned them a few tries, but soon learned kiting them until they just blew up on their own was better. I was told by the first Kingslayers on our realm that "Phase 3 isn't a DPS race; it's a survival race."

I honestly think though, that the superfast positioning of the spirits by the beartank and calling out the cooldowns/upcoming Defiles on Ventrilo really helped the encounter. Of course, that does dick if people are still retards about standing in them/positioning them badly, and especially on 25s I can imagine this is way more critical than in 10s.

LK is such a horrid, horrid encounter, I kind of want to bitchslap him IRL. And maintaining a positive attitude is key; I'm sorry your officer is being a whore about it. Speaking as someone who's done the bitchy, snide thing in the past (different game, but still), it leads nowhere good. Keep truckin though, you'll get him! :D
