keep the family sin

Decent ep, I think, all in all. Didn't have me utterly squeeful the whole way through, but I didn't end up heartbroken and crying, so all's good. :p Just a bit heartachey, and pondering if maybe I was rewatching Zombieland during some bits, heh.

Random thoughts:
*"Another horseman--must be Thursday." I LOVE SHOW FOR THIS. X3 *hee*

*Dean + pie = BFF or TL4E or both. X3 ♥ (Though yeah, I know in that one bit once Karen left the room, he was all Mr. Serious along with Sam, but you *know* he was *wallowing* in that pie up until that point.

*Speaking of: Gah, Karen was so freaking adorable. Just like the sort of gal I'd get crushy over, a bit. ^^; This ep gave me so many "Oh, Bobby" wibble moments.

*Sam and the zombie woman, oh that was a yuck moment. But then I read what people noted her drool/whatever that was resembled, and I saw a screencap [livejournal.com profile] itskaylie did, and oh god now I'm utterly amused. ^^

*Nice zombie movie end 8D 8D Headshots and camera splatters and all \:D/

*Last scene...once again they get to me with the instrumental music, and Sam's last line, the way Jared delivered it with the pauses. Oh, boys'n'Bobby. D: I know in a way he was going through the motions saying something like that, considering how they've all been with death before...but it was like--in my opinion--another awkward trying to be like 'normal' people would be. And/or their stumbling ways of dealing with emotion because their own norm is sucking it up. To me, attempting to say things like that in a way shows that Bobby is someone special to them, even if yeah, it just doesn't work. Though it's an extra bit of an ache because I could also see it as Sam trying to look for reassurance that Death and Lucifer trying to drive this wedge between them and Bobby wasn't successful...but Bobby just gives him that look and says nothing. They're all being chipped away at, being worn down.

*I think it did feel a bit...disconnected from the previous episode, though. I know that's sometimes how they do things, and sometimes stuff surfaces later. But with how freaking bad-off Sam was during the detox, and how broken Dean was, I could have used some sort of nod to that all. Just a bit of something. I've seen a bunch of fic tags to 5.14, but now I kind of want to find a fic that bridges the fic tags and 5.15, how they picked themselves back up and moved on, so to speak.

*I'm probably super cold-hearted or something...but to be honest, if someone I dearly loved came back to life...I hate to say, I would not be all grateful and welcome them with open arms. :x The idea of people being so happy of loved ones returning from the dead that they just slip them back into normal life like nothing ever happened...I just can't buy people doing that. ^^; And calling the doctor because a *dead* but come back to life son had a fever...ohhhkay. That sort of made me laugh, and I'm not sure it was supposed to. ^^;

*Also: Sioux Falls, S.D. is nearly 124,000 in population. :p Not New York or LA or Vancouver, but not exactly podunk, and not the sort to have a 'town drunk'. I imagine it's supposed to be some rural suburb, but then they shoulda given it a different name.

*OH BUT HOW I WANT NEXT WEEK'S EPISODE. OH HOW I WANT IT NOOOOOOOOOW *spazzflails* Looks so good ^.^

Exactly. This pissed me off so much during the whole episode because I've actually been to Sioux Falls so many times, lived just couple hours from it (in MN thou) actually. So making it look like this little town with one sheriff and "a town-drunk" who everyone knew.. argh. I know it's stupid little detail, but if they really gonna name these places then come on, little more accuracy please.

Oh cool, didn't know you'd lived in the region. :D And exactly on the accuracy--I mean, we get better so often from fanfiction. Even my little paltry attempts at fic, I try to at least do wikipedia and web searching just to get a basic grasp. This they obviously didn't do a thing to fact check--and they're paid for it. I let a lot of things go to suspend disbelief, but definitely want to scold them for that. Google is a click away! \o/ And if fans and amateurs can check the basics, so can they. :p
