The place we went to for AX is not on their hotel list :( But of their list, the Marriot actually looks darned inexpensive--and as always, is one of the closest.
What I may do is contact the hotel about reservations, then discuss it with you more after we have tix, since I could always cancel.
Yah, I left a reply there, sure you've seen it by now though. We may want to get the mariott this time from what I'm seeing for prices. Less than $100 a night for a double. Although, did the coast when we were there be something like $87 a night? I can't remember. XP

If I'm remembering right, the con's Oct.28-29, so I'll call soon as I can and get for checkin the 27th and checkout the 30th. I might try to call today at lunch if it'll let me dial 800 # from our work phone. If not, I'll try for such at home.

But only 4400 people, that's really small for a con. Btw, I'm willing to buy your ticket at the same time I get mine (and I'm assuming James here will still be interested in going), and will just smack it all on one of my credit cards.
I know total costs will be steep--but I don't think I'll buy as much merchandise as I would at an anime con (and even that, I don't think I'll be getting as much at Otakon as I would normally), so maybe that'll balance out the tix price some. Also, I'm treating this as kind of a once-in-a-lifetime sort of thing. I just don't know if it'll be as big next year this time--seems like now's the time for a con, before the hubbub dies down.
Gah. O_o For that much there better be a lot of damn good free promo stuff.
But yeah, WoW will likely start to die down, most MMO's do, so I doubt they'll be able to get a very big con next year if they did it. Even if they came out with another game the big thing they have going for this is WoW.
