The SHEEP TOSS! Or Sheaf toss. I've had conflicting stories.
Basically, there's a 16 or 20 pound burlap sack of hay, that the scotsman (or woman) has to stab with a pitchfork, and huck over a pole that's roughly the height of a pole-vault bar.
In ONE story explanation from my Ancient Civ teacher (Who happened to be a Scot), they were really sheep, and the pitchfork wasn't stabbed into the sheep. They still hucked the sheep over walls though. All to piss off the Romans, and steal their sheep. Caber toss was another general thing like that, I think. except lumber.
In the other explanation, the one that I've generally found a lot on site on the 'net, is that it's a Sheath toss, and it was just a boring old "Toss the bales of hay up into the rafters of a barn" dealy.
But, that doesn't piss the Romans off at ALL! And the Scots were ALL for that! ^^ (Again, According to Mr. MacGregor. There seems to be a few conflicting reports of history when it concerns the Scots, such as Hadrian's Wall)
